Road to Hana - Hawaiin Must See!
If you're planning a trip to Maui, the Road to Hana is a necessary addition to your itinerary. Despite the Hana Highway's popularity, just a few minutes into the trip you'll feel as if you're on your own private island. The Road to Hana is a 52 mile long "trail" that you drive through. The highway takes you through Huelo, Keanae, Wailua and Nahiku. But please, don't be mislead by the term "highway." Instead, it's more like a hiking path for your car. During the drive you're completely surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation. Before embarking on this trip, try to find an audio guide for the Road to Hana that you can listen to in your car. This guide starts at the beginning of the trips and gives helpful hints on where to stop and see hidden waterfalls, swimming holes, beaches, and also interesting historical details about the area. Also, be sure to fill up on gas and snacks before hitting the highway. The trip is less about the destination, and more about the journey...so don't rush to the end.
